Relax and take a load off: Reading / Sitting Nook

23. October 2014 Interior Design 0

My husband and I are obsessed with having spaces in our house to sit and relax.  As a result, I am always thinking of ways to incorporate little sitting nooks in our new home. During my quest to find the “right” chair and accents, it came to my attention how expensive things can be. My vision of a space was clashing with the reality of my wallet. Even more unfortunate, I am not a DIY chica. I desire to be crafty but it never matches the actual reality of my abilities. So I stick with what I am good at, researching and hunting down the best deals I can. This is why I love the internet, all before breakfast and sometimes even brushing my teeth, I can find items for my space without ever leaving my home. A homebody’s dream.

I am a big supporter of target clearance, joss and main, the Ross ‘dress for less’ store and HomeGoods. Granted. some of these, require leaving the house … at some point. Nevertheless great deals are worth the leaving the house …right?

So we have this little nook overlooking our front entrance which was itching for a either a home office or sitting nook. I previously posted my home office in this space, but after having a baby, sitting there was not practical so I moved it.

The new space is comprised of reusing my brown leather chair (purchased from a local furniture store for $100), Target clearance accent table, pillow and ottoman, Ross basket and curtains, HomeGoods throw and a Joss and Main carpet.

Hope this little project inspires you!
